Full Abstract:

Probate of the Will of John Gawn late of Ballyboley County Antrim Farmer who died 17 April 1907 granted at Belfast to Thomas John Gawn and Robert Gawn Farmers.

Will of John Gawn, Ballyboley  

I John Gawn of Ballyboley in the county of Antrim farmer hereby revoke all testamentary instruments at any time heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I appoint my son Thomas John Gawn and my nephew Robert Gawn to be Executors of this my Will. I direct my Executors  to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses. I leave devise and bequeath to my son Thomas John Gawn all  my property real and personal of every kind and description of which I may die seized or possessed or in any manner interested in. I leave to my daughter Mary Jane Hoy wife of Francis Hoy now residing in Scotland the sum of Fifty pounds Sterling to be paid to her by my said son Thomas John in case she becomes a widow but not otherwise. I direct and will that my grandson John Gawn who now resides with me be supported and maintained by my said son Thomas John Gawn in a proper and suitable manner upon my farm and that he receive a suitable education and be put to a suitable trade. And I further direct that such support and maintenance as aforesaid shall cease upon my said grandson receiving such trade but in any case shall not be continued after my said grandson shall have attained the age of eighteen years. As witness my hand this twenty second day of November one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight.
